Criminology/Psychology Taster Day

A Level Psychology and Sociology students attended a Criminology/Psychology Taster Day at Marjons, Plymouth. They were given the opportunity to see how a crime is analysed, from piecing together the clues from a ransom note (quite literally, the note was shredded) to understanding the profile of the offender by looking at the different characteristics from a psychological perspective.

Students were also able to ask questions about university life and view the facilities on offer – including the crime scene house set up ready for analysis and the observation room with its one way mirror. This was an excellent opportunity for students to see where their A Levels could take them and to see how their taught knowledge can be used outside the classroom.
